The cake is delicious and moist

It's been a long, grueling couple of months. Watching the amount of light in the day slowly leaching away. Doing precious little but working and studying. I can't say I've been particularly happy, but it hasn't been wretched. I've just been a little isolated, partly by my own doing.

This past weekend, though was one of the better weekends I've had in a really long time. I've sort of become inured (new word! Playing Scrabulous and Boglific on Facebook is one of the precious few things I do there.) to the drudgery of my life of late, and it was really, really gratifying to remember that life has its moments. Also, I made banana bread. It was delicious and moist.

ecogrrl's year-long research trip is imminent, and she's trying to spend as much time as possible in her last few weeks here with people before she goes, so it's been nice to see her a fair bit. Plus, there was a little bit of a gathering at Chez Thingo where Mrs. Thingo joined the ranks of the decrepit. There was cake. It was delicious and moist.

Speaking of, I've managed to further injure myself by aggravating my Achilles tendon while playing Ultimate. Oh well. After a week or two of hoping it would get better, I finally went to physio, and now I'm hoping I can actually start doing strenuous things again like, at least, go bouldering every once in a while.

This week, things are back to the grind again. My final project got only half done, and I haven't really started my last assignment yet, and my motivation to actually do the work is flagging. It's almost certainly time to start thinking about taking a break from classes. Maybe. After next term. When I'm taking Network Flow Theory.
